This book, edited by Colin Bell and Bob White of the Faraday Institute, originally came out of the 2012 Jamaica conference on ‘Creation Care and the Gospel’ that has led on to a global series of regional conferences. Contributors include many who were in Jamaica and others who’ve been asked since. A Rocha features very highly: Dave Bookless, Director of Theology for A Rocha International co-wrote the ‘Call to Action and Exposition’, a chapter on ‘How does Creation Care belong within an Evangelical Understanding of Mission’ and a case study on Minet Country Park in Southall, West London. You can read his review on our Planetwise blog.
In addition, there are case studies by Sally Shaw, one of the Directors of A Rocha Australia, Seth Appiah-Kubi, National Director of A Rocha Ghana, Andrew Shepherd, Co-Director of A Rocha Aotearoa/ New Zealand and Sara Kaweesa, National Director of A Rocha Uganda.
The book contains biblical and theological affirmations from many well-respected scholars and teachers, reminding us that caring for creation is central to the evangelical faith. It is an integral part of our mission, an expression of our worship of God, and a matter of great joy and hope.
