Isabel (Bebé) Soares

Environmental Education Coordinator, A Rocha Portugal

Bebé SoaresIsabel (a.k.a. “Bebé”) started working at A Rocha in 1997 as assistant manager, and then from 2001 as environmental education coordinator. After graduating in Agricultural Sciences, Bebé taught a few classes of 10- to 15-year olds, and found her love for teaching. Since then, she’s been taking environmental education projects and activities to schools, and receiving students and other groups at Cruzinha. She has a daughter, Pipas. Bebé is passionate about living and working in community, spending time with people, visiting natural sites, sharing God and good food. At the Cruzinha centre, she can do all of that – everyday! Either guiding a group around the Alvor Estuary, telling little children about the amazing world of bugs, sharing meals with guests, or with one-on-one conversations about what God has in store for the present and the future.
