A big ‘thank you’

That’s to all of you who supported A Rocha International during the Big Give Christmas Challenge, the UK’s biggest online match funding campaign!

In just one week, supporters donated £12,198, which has been matched by generous supporters and the Big Give’s philanthropic partner, the Reed Foundation. This means that, with Gift Aid, you have helped us reach our target and raise a fantastic £26,289 to support our global environmental education activities! We are truly touched by the generosity of A Rocha’s supporters.

Here’s what it will help achieve:

We believe that inspiring people to engage directly with the world around them is fundamental to environmental conservation – whether that’s rockpooling with Kenyan students or planting trees with Syrian refugees. With projects in 20 different countries, the contexts and range of A Rocha’s environmental education activities can be highly diverse. A Rocha International gives training and provides opportunities to share experiences and expertise among environmental education practitioners. In 2018, we are planning to run a four-day regional environmental education conference in Kenya to equip and resource practitioners from A Rocha Organizations in Africa and Lebanon. This will be followed by workshops to build the capacity of teachers in rural Kenyan schools to promote environmental awareness and stewardship through their environmental education activities.
