Searching for new Centre Managers

Are you looking for a new challenge? Or perhaps a new job? Or maybe a move to Southern Portugal with your family? A Rocha Portugal can offer you each of these thanks to a rather unique job opportunity.

Cruzinha is where Peter and Miranda Harris began the A Rocha story over 30 years ago and the current Centre Managers, Marcial and Paula, are taking on different roles after leading the A Rocha centre for an impressive 17 years.

So the search is underway for new Centre Managers. You’ll live in your own flat, contained within a large house, which attracts a steady stream of visitors. You’ll work outdoors for most of the year, eat great food, do lots of birdwatching and manage all kinds of interesting science activities as well as leading an ongoing education programme.

Funded under a missionary model, for which applicants must guarantee their own funding, this post could be ideal for a married couple or family. Applicants must be able to speak (or be willing to learn) Portuguese and English, be practical and have some management experience (people, buildings, kitchen, accommodation and others). Essential is a passion for people and conservation, a great sense of humour and the ability to adapt to new situations.

A Rocha Portugal is welcoming applications until end of December 2018. For more information please visit A Rocha Portugal’s website.
