Planetwise on its way to francophone Africa
The French translation of Planetwise, Dieu, L’écologie et Moi, was launched, appropriately, on 18 October at the Micah Challenge / Stop Poverty conference in Biel, Switzerland, where the theme was ‘Fighting poverty means protecting the environment’. Dave Bookless, author of Planetwise, was one of several A Rocha speakers who led talks and workshops exploring how lifestyle changes might enable all the peoples of the world to enjoy a decent existence without wrecking the rest of creation.
Because Christians in francophone Africa have requested teaching on environmental stewardship, A Rocha International has part- funded the translation of Planetwise, which clearly and compellingly examines the biblical basis and suggests practical responses. We’re grateful to a legacy from the late Dr Donald J Drew, an English teacher who mentored and inspired young Christians, which helped to make this possible.
Planetwise has persuaded many people to get involved in caring for the Earth: if you’d like to help it get into the hands of Christians in Latin America or China, please make a gift now at arocha.org/donate.
