The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2020 is open!

From noon (GMT) on #GivingTuesday 1 December until noon on 8 December any donation you make through the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge website will be doubled (while match funds last) by generous donors and the Big Give’s philanthropic partner, the Reed Foundation.

Our involvement last year enabled A Rocha International to raise a whopping £46,800 to coordinate and support our global environmental education activities. Thank you again to all who gave or prayed.

We had ambitious plans for 2020, including an environmental education conference in Uganda that would bring together A Rocha delegates from across Africa and host workshops for teachers and local church leaders, as well as a church tree planting day. But a silver-lining to COVID-19 meant that we could involve more A Rocha organizations, minimize emissions and save valuable resources. 24 delegates from 15 countries participated in one or both of our virtual environmental education conferences, exploring the impact of COVID-19 on each A Rocha organization, discussing nature’s benefits for health and wellbeing and sharing environmental education stories and resources.

This year, A Rocha International is taking part in the Christmas Challenge again, during which we’ll be aiming to raise £30,000 to coordinate and support A Rocha’s global environmental education programme – equipping and empowering children and communities to live sustainably with the world around them. And with every donation doubled, your gift will have twice the impact.
