Green Communion on 5 February

Could your worship be enriched by a special liturgy, written for A Rocha by Canterbury Cathedral? Churches big and small of many denominations, as well as a number of English cathedrals, will be taking part. It would be wonderful if churches all over the world could join in too!

Dr Ruth Valerio, Churches and Theology Director for A Rocha UK, says, ‘In January we’ll be celebrating the first anniversary of Eco Church. Over 400 churches are already involved and the number increases weekly. Having turned St Paul’s Cathedral green at the launch, we are now looking for congregations up and down the country – and overseas − to hold a Green Communion on 5 February. That will consist of two things: firstly, we are asking churches to use a green cloth on their communion table, as a sign of their commitment to care for creation, and secondly, we have commissioned a special liturgy which can be used in its entirety, but it also contains a variety of prayers and an Act of Commitment which you can pull out and use as you wish. To see all the resources, go to ecochurch.arocha.org.uk and click on the link on the right hand side.’
