Environmental educators get connected

Picture this: an environmental education conference in Uganda that would bring together A Rocha delegates from across Africa and host workshops for teachers and local church leaders, as well as a church tree planting day. Then came COVID-19 and the inevitable question: can we adapt this into an online conference? There is no substitute for face-to-face relationships, and the technology and time zones would be an issue for some, but it would mean that we could go global, low-carbon and save valuable resources.

So, 26 delegates from 15 countries joined over four days to explore the impact of COVID-19 on each A Rocha organization, discuss nature’s benefits for health and wellbeing and share environmental education stories and resources.

We look forward to a sequel later in the year!
