COP21 and climate change – what’s A Rocha doing?

Mrs Madiina Kalliisa gardenOur COP21 appeal raised £12,711 by 21 October. Thank you! Because of your support, A Rocha International will be at COP21 in Paris, bringing a Christian voice to the climate discussions, together with Tearfund and the Lausanne Movement. For events and updates, please visit Raise a voice for the climate.

Today, and on 1 December, people around the world, including many in the A Rocha family, will be fasting and praying that world leaders will commit to an effective, fair action plan to reduce carbon pollution when they meet from 30 November. You can sign up at fastfortheclimate.org.

Climate change is not a temporary concern for A Rocha. Climate change affects every living thing: species distribution on land and sea; migration patterns of birds, insects and other animals; and the timing of plant germination, including, of course, our crops. Therefore, climate change affects everything A Rocha does: our research, our education programmes and our community training activities. For example, discover how bio-sand filters in Uganda are reducing deforestation and poverty here.
