A Rocha Blog turns 150!
Launched in 2012, our blog has just published its 150th article.
Formerly called ‘Planetwise’, the A Rocha Blog features a diverse array of writers and equally varied topics, such as conservation, climate change, hope, the Middle East, community – and even swimwear and dish-washing!
Why not visit the A Rocha Blog now and save a few pages for later reading? Here are some suggestions:
- Our latest post, The Bible, biodiversity and God’s priorities by Dave Bookless, focuses on the current biodiversity crisis and how, like climate change, must be addressed by the Churches.
- In Are humans the virus species?, our most read article (originally published in 2012), Dave Bookless provides a take on the popular view of humans as an unthinking, destructive agent which the Earth would be much better off without.
- The eco-anxiety articles, by eco-theologian and A Rocha Finland leader and theologian Panu Pihkala explore the psychological and spiritual toll of the environmental crisis and the connection between Extinction Rebellion, eco-anxiety and Christian faith.
- The John Stott articles, by Miranda Harris, explores how John Stott exemplified in his own life the characteristics we at A Rocha have chosen as our very defining principles.
- In the Biblical Eco-characters series, Dave Bookless takes us through Job, Adam, Noah, Ruth, David, Solomon, Jeremiah, Hosea, Mary – and finally Jesus – and relates them to current-day ecological concerns.
The blog has also been extensively translated into French, Spanish and Portuguese, with some articles in Dutch and German. If you speak any of those languages – or have a friend that does – why not visit or recommend it?
