Canada – Brooksdale Guest House
The Brooksdale Environmental Centre is situated on the Pacific Coast in British Columbia, just north of the Canada-USA border. The property includes environmentally sensitive land along the Little Campbell River, which supports a diversity of birds, plants, insects and fish. Nearby is Boundary Bay, the top-rated Important Bird Area (IBA) in Canada. The property, with its pastures and beautiful heritage buildings, houses the national office, as well as our on-site education, conservation, sustainable living activities. The centre is ideal for those looking for research opportunities or just hands-on experience.

Czech Republic – Krupárna
A Rocha Czech’s centre, Krupárna (”the mill”) is located on a river valley near Dobruška, in Northeastern Bohemia, surrounded by 2.5 hectares of meadows and forests, and within thirty kilometres of the ecologically important Eagle Mountains, Grandmother’s Valley and the Rozkoš reservoir. Krupárna is an old, spacious building that was originally a grain mill, then a textile mill. A stream that used to power an old-fashioned water wheel still runs through the building. France – Les Courmettes
Les Courmettes lies in the hills behind Nice. The 600 hectare site, rising from 300 to 1200 metres, holds a wealth of natural habitats and has spectacular views of the Côte d'Azur. It also has a conference centre, accommodation for up to 25 volunteers, and welcomes thousands of day-visitors each year for a range of activities from walking to environmental education.

India - Kasserguppe Field Study Center
The centre is based in South India, at the village of Kasserguppe, a short distance south of the metropolitan city of Bangalore and on the edge of Bannerghatta National Park. The centre’s proximity to the scrub forest makes it an ideal place for volunteers from India and abroad to participate in research surveys, elephant censuses and other programmes. The team also offers short-term research placements for graduate and post-graduate ecology students and can accommodate students or professionals interested in pursuing their own research topics.

Kenya – Mwamba Field Study Centre
Mwamba is on the coast at Watamu, 100 km north of Mombasa. Offshore is a National Marine Park and Reserve with world-class coral reefs. Nearby is the Arabuko-Sokoke Forest, one of the most important forests for bird conservation in all Africa, and Mida Creek, a superb mangrove ecosystem composed from seven out of nine East African mangrove species. This is a perfect location for studying - or just enjoying - a wide range of species and habitats. Formerly a guest house, the centre is now being gradually renovated.

Portugal – Cruzinha
Cruzinha, in the Algarve, South Portugal, is surrounded by the attractive farmlands of the Quinta da Rocha peninsula and overlooks the Alvor estuary. The nearest large towns are Portimão and Lagos, Cruzinha being half-way between them. Regular visitors to the centre include school and university groups, as well as families and individuals. There are excellent areas for plants, birds and insects within easy walking distance of the centre and both Cape St Vincent and the Monchique hills are within easy reach by car or bus.
